“Mum recently stayed at The Manor House for a few weeks following hip replacement surgery. "
"From the moment Mum arrived she was wonderfully looked after with such care and consideration.”
" Due to complications following the surgery doctors and nurses had to be called upon and the Manor House dealt with this speedily and effectively. All care staff were delightful, happy, and above all caring and we could not have asked for more.”
"Thank you to everyone for getting Mum back on her feet (literally!) and we would have no hesitation in recommending the Manor House to anyone.”
“I rate 'The Manor House' Residential Care Home - First Class. The accommodation cannot be faulted, overall, the quality of the 'the home' is excellent, this would include the initial impression given and sustained throughout the whole. Residents are treated with respect and consideration to meet individual needs. In addition, 'Health and Safety' aspects are observed, in relation, to individual circumstances, (i.e. my sister's).”
“For the residents, a full programme of optional activities and entertainment lends itself to a pleasant environment. The management and staff are particularly caring. The latter, in reality, is what makes an excellent care home, without, is meaningless.”
“This care home was truly first-class. My father really enjoyed his time at The Manor House and was incredibly supported always. We could not wish for a nicer place for his twilight years and the attention to detail was fantastic!"
“Always immaculately clean due to the team at Whickham who keep everything the way you would expect it to be.”
“Fabulous staff who actually care about the residents. Beautiful surroundings and facilities. Amazing hairdressing salon.”
“ It is truly a home-from-home well run and managed by a great team of people.”
“Entering the Manor House, it is welcoming and warm. The managerial staff were there to greet us. We were introduced to the duty carers. Mum's room was very comfortable with a controlled thermostat operated by Mum. The en suite wet room is modern and aids had been allocated for Mum's needs. After 4 weeks, her health improved, she started walking again and putting on weight. She is stimulated and chooses to interact in all the activities."
"The residents are encouraged to take part but equally their privacy is respected. There are two function rooms to choose from to entertain guests. My mother was very hesitant to go into The Manor House but after 10 weeks has settled in and enjoys all the benefits of what the home brings to her life and comfort. Very high standards are kept and the management are approachable for any queries and they do take an interest in residents as well.”
“Manor House from entering for the first time could be seen to be of a far higher standard than other care homes. Facilities for residents are second to none, with rooms spacious and comfortable. From the first few hours, my father-in-law was welcomed by all staff and settled in quickly. The care and attention staff pay to all residents means we know he is safe, treated with respect and well looked after.”
“Of all the homes reviewed and visited prior to my wife entering, this home stood out as vastly superior to the others. Interviews with management were reassuring and the reality since my wife's admission has even been better than expected. Management of the home is outstanding, and as a result, the standards of care are the highest. I have no criticism of any feature or aspect of the home and my wife's care.”
“My mother has stayed at The Manor House on 3 occasions and as a family we have been delighted with the care she has received which was 1st class. The warmth of welcome that was extended to her each time she has stayed was heartwarming to witness and Mum was clearly touched by this and all the kindness shown to her by all the staff during her time at The Manor House. I would thoroughly recommend The Manor House for respite care for much-loved family members, it is a really wonderful place to be and to visit.”
“We needed to find our relation respite care straight from hospital at quite short notice and the help we received from the management team to get the care in place at The Manor House Gosforth was excellent. They expedited the process very effectively so that the room and service were available within a few days of my initial enquiry.”
“I looked around many care homes until I found The Manor House Whickham. The care is exceptional. Our mother has Alzheimer's but is clearly very happy here. Her health has improved greatly since entering the home. We are able to call anytime and the staff are always welcoming. Mum is always well presented and the home smells clean and fresh, unlike others I have looked around. She loves the staff, the food and the entertainment.”
“The excellent care my father has received from all the staff he has encountered at The Manor House started even before he moved in. It has continued to be attentive, sensitive and comprehensive. In addition, the communications with me have been thorough, pragmatic and equally sensitive. The liaison with health care professionals to identify his needs has been excellent. He is delighted with his care and I am extremely happy to think of him in such a welcoming and warm environment.”
“All of the staff are exceptional, being welcoming, caring, attentive, patient, and respectful to residents and visitors. The food is varied, fresh and looks and smells fabulous. To stimulate residents, activities are organised daily and include arts and crafts, exercise, live music, guest speakers and mini-bus outings. Participation is encouraged but is optional, if residents choose not to participate, their decision is accepted and respected, as it should be.The home and grounds are immaculate and whilst the quality of care has to be the primary focus when placing a relative, the environment forms part of that care. It has to be clean, bright, comfortable, stimulating and safe. My view is that if staff take the time to ensure that the environment is well looked after, they will take the time to ensure that the residents are well looked after and that is definitely what I have seen in Manor House Care Home. If I was looking for a home for myself, it would be The Manor House.”
“My mother has lived in the Chester’s unit for almost 9 months, following a stroke. During this time, she has been extremely well cared for by the staff there, who are patient and kind at all times. They are welcoming to her visitors, offering tea/coffee and even wine. She is part of a choir that meets weekly, has been taken on a number of day trips to various places, as well as participated in crafts, exercise and singing performances.
The quality of the surroundings is superb, including her room, the public areas and the lovely gardens. The level of detail with which the whole home is managed is excellent and senior management is always available to discuss concerns, offering strategies to resolve any minor issues.
I have personally visited over 12 care homes in the area and this one is, by far, the best that I have seen. We are grateful for all the care our mother receives at The Manor House.”
“I can’t rate this care provision highly enough. The hardest decision I ever had to make was finding my father's forever home that would live up to my standards of looking after him, as I would. They go over and above in every way. Every single member of staff I have had the pleasure of coming across is so friendly, respectful and professional. They are always encouraging their residents to get involved and stimulate them, even more so when doors are closed to visitors. The staff are bursting with bright-coloured personalities and I genuinely see that they enjoy their job and love the residents like they are their own family. I have no worries or concerns here and only hope if ever my time came to be in full-time care, my family pick here for me. Residents are treated like royalty. Thank you to every one of you for your commitment and support to the residents - you are superstars.”
