Celebrating The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

Residents and staff at The Manor House  Whickham and The Manor House Gosforth, had a right Royal time during the Platinum Jubilee long weekend.
The homes were decked in red, white and blue with 1st Whickham St Mary's Scout Group making some fantastic bunting for The Manor House Whickham.
The whole weekend was one long celebration, with garden ‘street’ parties, entertainment, karaoke, dancing and lots of champagne cocktails, Buck’s Fizz, Pimms and Schloer to toast Her Majesty.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed watching the lighting of the Jubilee Beacons and Trooping the Colour on TV and there was fun and laughter every day.  Two alpacas even made an appearance at Whickham’s street party together with an ice cream van!
A big thank you must go to the staff at both homes - it was due to all their fabulous hard work that a great time was had by all.  The Whickham lifestyle co-ordinators, Lisa Wood and Damian Amour really pulled out all the stops as did their counterpart Sheila Thornton at Gosforth.
