Olive Gets Her Wish

Football fan and The Manor House Whickham resident 91-year-old Olive Helsdon had one ‘Big Wish’.  Olive, who was born on the Scotswood Road really wanted to go and watch Gateshead FC play.

Olive used to enjoy going to watch the club on a regular basis with her husband and friends but hadn’t been for many years.

Of course, the team at The Manor House Whickham were only too happy to make that wish come true and recently took Olive to the Gateshead International Stadium for a game.

Sadly, the team was not as accommodating and lost 3 – 1 to Woking!  Despite the result Olive had a wonderful day rekindling her love for the beautiful game.
