Luxury elderly care provider Hadrian Healthcare Group have opened their latest care home, The Manor House Harrogate.
The development, representing an investment of over £13m, is situated on Cornwall Road and is part of the prestigious Duchy Estate. It provides residential, dementia and respite care for elderly people. Around 100 full and part-time jobs have been created within the local area.
Mrs Winnie Beane, a resident at Oulton Manor, helped to launch the Leeds Poppy Appeal on Friday 26 October.
Winnie, now 97, grew up in Methley, Leeds. During the Second World War she was a radio operator in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF), stationed at RAF Ouston in Northumberland.
Staff from luxury care home Wetherby Manor in Wetherby have raised a fantastic £1,500 for the Alzheimer's Society by taking part in three of the charity's Memory Walks.
The 11 walkers took part in 6km walks at York Racecourse, the National Trust's Clumber Park in Nottinghamshire and Temple Newsam in Leeds.

The event was one of a series of local Dementia Cafes for people living with dementia and their families and friends, hosted at different venues each time, organised by Peter Smith of Dementia Friendly Rothwell and supported by The Leeds United Foundation.
