Head chefs at all Hadrian Healthcare Group’s care homes are now members of the National Association of Care Catering (NACC). This gives them access to specialist resources, guidance, events and training to share with their teams.
The luxury elderly care provider has previously carried out research with Northumbria University to optimise its homes’ seasonal menus for nutrition and hydration, and Hadrian Healthcare chefs have won the NACC Care Cook of the Year competition three times.

With a whole range of fun activities from ‘Splat the Rat’ to a penalty shoot out, stalls, tombolas, face painting and guessing games as well as a raffle, refreshments and Pimms Garden there was something for everyone, whatever their age, to enjoy.
The Manor House care home in Barnard Castle celebrated the Queen’s 90th birthday and national Care Home Open Day together in style with guest of honour the Mayor of Barnard Castle Councillor John Blissett.
The event had a street party theme with bunting and homemade afternoon tea served on vintage china. Music was provided by violin and guitar duo Charlotte Kennedy and Harry Murrell. Activities included creative sessions with flower arranger Eunice Tate and artist Michael Horner and a fun pompom Oomph! exercise class led by care assistant Katie Richards.
Andrew Jones, member of parliament for Harrogate and Knaresborough, visited The Manor House care home in Knaresborough as part of the national Care Home Open Day celebrations on 17 June.
He met residents and their families and friends as well staff and other visitors from the local community.
