Wetherby Manor Named UK Luxury Care Home of the Year 2018

Hadrian Healthcare Group’s Wetherby Manor care home was named UK Luxury Care Home 2018 at the Knight Frank Healthcare Property Dinner on Thursday 5 October.

A video featuring residents and staff at Wetherby Manor was produced by Knight Frank for the dinner and is available to view here.

The dinner was held at The Grand Connaught Rooms in London in aid of the Matt Hampson Foundation, and was attended by over 400 senior healthcare industry figures with special guest Frankie Dettori, champion jockey.

Wetherby Manor won the award against very stiff competition from all the care homes listed in the 2018 edition of the Knight Frank Luxury Care Home Guide, which was also launched at the dinner. The care homes featured in the guide total around £2bn of the best assets in the UK.

Ian Watson, owner and Chairman of Hadrian Healthcare Group said: “It’s fantastic to win and formally receive the award as the best UK Luxury Care Home 2018. The assessment process was very thorough and comprehensive.

“Each of our homes is designed and furnished with great care to provide our residents with an exceptional standard of quality living.

“Our emphasis is very much on encouraging our residents to enjoy an independent lifestyle whilst always respecting the dignity and choice of each individual. Every resident at Wetherby Manor is respected and cared for and all regard Wetherby Manor as their home. It’s the staff and residents who make Wetherby Manor such a special place.

“Developing and nurturing a highly trained and committed care team is our highest priority as we aim to provide a very compassionate level of support and friendship to every one of our residents when it is needed.”

Wetherby Manor is situated in the heart of the Wetherby town centre conservation area. The home opened in 2013 and provides accommodation for 75 people.

Julian Evans, Head of Healthcare and Hotels at Knight Frank commented: “This is the fourth Healthcare Property Dinner that we have had the pleasure of hosting. The evening is a great opportunity to identify some of the best care home assets in the UK, and we were pleased to present Wetherby Manor with their well-deserved award.”

The event raised over £15,500 for the Matt Hampson Foundation which provides advice, support, relief and treatment to people suffering serious injury or disability as a result of sporting activities.
